Happy New Year everyone! 2013 was an eventful year for St. John’s. Too many to list or count. As we approach 2014, we continue to live into not only the recent changes at St. John’s, but God’s call on how St. John’s serves the community around us.
You all have been the welcoming body that has made serving our neighborhood through the Harvest Food Pantry possible. In 2013, we served fresh grocery items to an average of 200 households per week – that is between 78,000 to 104,000 pounds of food for the year.
One of our clients wrote this thank you note, expressing her gratitude:
You all have welcomed all ages, life experiences, and those new to the neighborhood into a safe, open, and real community of faith. In the words of one of our 8 year olds: “St. John’s is the best church in the country.”
May God bless you all and sustain you through all of life’s celebrations and challenges, knowing that we are together in faith and in prayer.
