The Loneliness of Being Black in San Francisco

This is a disconcerting article, informative for those newer to SF. In the 60’s and 70’s, the destabilization and tearing apart of the Fillmore district, along with the Geary tunnel which separated neighborhoods, was done partly so wealthier folks in the west side of the city could bypass areas they preferred not to see on their way to work. Do we still choose not to see?
