Welcome Sign

St. John’s leadership has been in preliminary conversations with Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity to learn about the sanctuary movement. Some of our St. John’s partners have trained to be observers of ICE operations.

Four ways congregations can demonstrate a commitment to sanctuary are:

  • providing physical sanctuary for someone facing final deportation
  • accompanying immigrant families and youth to courtroom appearances or emotional support for services such as housing
  • advocating for policies which protect the due process of immigrants
  • joining networks of protection and rapid response
